An aroused Nebraska team shook off the disappointing loss to Kansas State and stormed back to sink Colorado, 22-6, before a record crowd of 48,327 in Boulder.
It was Nebraska's best offensive and defensive performance of the year as the Huskers rushed for 228 yards and held the potent Buffs to a total offensive output of 239 yards.
The Huskers scored early, driving 55 yards with their second possession. Joe Orduna got the TD with an 8-yard sprint.
With :43 left in the first quarter, Guy Ingles returned a Buff punt 62 yard for a touchdown and a 12-0 lead.
Paul Rogers kicked a 46-yard field goal in the second quarter and the Scarlets added a third-quarter Orduna TD to build up a 22-0 lead.
Colorado marched to a score late in the third quarter, but the Husker defense throttled all other bids.
