Official recap
Nebraska combined Kansas mis-cues with its own patented, last-ditch comeback efforts to pull out a 21-17 victory over the Kansas Jayhawks before 66,667 fans.

Kansas took a 17-14 lead with 14:29 left in the game, but the Huskers fought back to achieve victory just as they had on 13 prior occasions under Coach Bob Devaney under similar conditions.

Stopping KU at the Husker 12 late in the fourth quarter, the Huskers moved 88 yards to score the winning TD with only 1:22 left in the game. Jerry Tagge hit four passes and the Jayhawks chipped in with a pass interference and two personal foul penalties to aid the Husker cause. Jeff Kinney banged over from the three for the clincher.

Paul Rogers kicked two first quarter field goals—the first a Big 8 record 55-yarder—and Kinney made it 14-7 at the half. But KU came back to tie 14-14 in the third quarter.

John Mosier's 24-yard field goal gave the Jayhawks upset hopes, but the poised Cornhuskers couldn't be stopped as they picked up win No. 3 and evened their Big 8 mark at 1-1.
