Official recap  More | Hide
Dana Stephenson swiped three Colorado passes, setting up two Nebraska scores, as the Cornhuskers whacked the Buffaloes, 20-7, before 67,084 happy fans.

Stephenson's three interceptions set a new Nebraska school record, in addition to setting up the Husker win.

Colorado jumped to a 7-0 lead in the first quarter, but the Huskers came back to march to the Buff 18. Paul Rogers kicked a 40-yard field goal to cut the gap to 7-3.

Late in the second quarter, Stephenson made his first theft and the Huskers drove 61 yards to go ahead, 10-7. Jeff Kinney tallied from the four with :35 left in the half.

Shortly after the third quarter started, Dana made his second interception at the CU 32. In three plays, Nebraska had a 17-7 lead as Van Brownson fired a 27-yard TD pass to Dan Schneiss.

A Buff fumble five plays later got Nebraska rolling again, with Rogers kicking a 32-yard field goal. It was Rogers' ninth career field goal, setting a new Husker record.

Nebraska's defense did a tremendous job of stopping Colorado star Bob Anderson for the third straight year. The Buff record-breaker was held to only 42 yards rushing.
