Clete Blakeman
Official recap
Starting against Kansas for the second-straight year, senior quarterback Clete Blakeman again made the most of the opportunity. With regular quarterback Steve Taylor on the bench with a bruised shoulder, Blakeman completed 10-of-12 passes for 100 yards and a touchdown, and rushed for 26 more yards.

In 1986 he had led the Huskers to a 70-0 win at Kansas when Taylor was out with injuries. While Blakeman directed the offense, the Husker defense limited the Jayhawks to eight first downs and 138 total yards.
