Nebraska, ranked No. 11, continued its rushing onslaught as the Huskers defeated the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders 48-7 in Lincoln. The Huskers scored first on a Calvin Jones 2-yard run in the first quarter, allowed Middle Tennessee State to get on the board and tie the game early in the second quarter, then shut down the Blue Raider offense and rolled to a 48-7 victory, aided by 34 second-half points. Eleven different Husker backs combined for a season-high 490 yards rushing and 600 yards in total offense while the Husker defense recorded a season-high six sacks.
