About Colonel Mustard
BIO: Despite having lived in such distant outposts as Decatur, Ill., and Fort Collins, Colo., the Colonel has made it to nearly every home game since the very dawn of the Devaney era. Like many a lad growing up in Nebraska, the Colonel aspired to quarterback the Huskers himself. He had the arm and the knowhow but, alas, not much else. What slim hopes he did have were dashed by the onset of gout at age 19. He may not be fleet of foot, but he is nimble of mind: He knows what makes the Huskers click and what makes them sputter. Prodding him to put his thoughts down on paper is sometimes a struggle; track him down at a neighborhood watering hole and you'll get the unabridged version of things.
BALLOTING: In spring of 1998 there was a vote on whether the Colonel should be listed under "The Essentials" on the main page of this site. Take a look at how the voting went and what some of the accompanying comments were.
